1. Purpose
The Coding Ladies Academy Code of Ethics serves as a guiding framework for all individuals associated with the organization, including management, executives, volunteers, ambassadors, trainers, and members. It ensures professionalism, accountability, respect, and integrity in all activities, engagements, and representations of the Academy.
All persons affiliated with Coding Ladies Academy are expected to uphold these standards at all times, both within and outside the organization.
2. Core Values
All members of Coding Ladies Academy shall uphold the following values:
- Integrity: Act honestly, transparently, and responsibly in all duties and interactions.
- Respect: Treat everyone with dignity, fairness, and professionalism regardless of age, background, skill level, or position.
- Inclusivity: Promote a welcoming and supportive environment for all women and girls in technology.
- Accountability: Take responsibility for actions, commitments, and assigned roles.
- Excellence: Strive for high quality in programs, communication, and representation.
- Collaboration: Work together respectfully and support one another toward shared goals.
3. General Conduct for All Members
All members, executives, and management must:
3.1 Professional Behavior
- Conduct themselves respectfully in all Academy spaces, both online and offline.
- Avoid harassment, discrimination, bullying, or any form of abusive behavior.
- Communicate politely and constructively.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive organizational information.
- Avoid actions that may damage the reputation of Coding Ladies Academy.
3.2 Commitment and Responsibility
- Fulfill assigned responsibilities on time.
- Participate actively in meetings, programs, and assigned activities.
- Inform relevant leaders promptly when unable to meet commitments.
- Be honest about skills, qualifications, and contributions.
3.3 Team Relations
- Respect leadership structures and decision-making processes.
- Address conflicts professionally through proper internal channels.
- Support fellow members and encourage collaboration rather than unhealthy competition.
4. Management Code of Ethics
This applies to founders, directors, coordinators, and all senior leadership. Management shall:
- Lead with transparency, fairness, and accountability.
- Make decisions in the best interest of the organization and its beneficiaries.
- Avoid favoritism, bias, or abuse of authority.
- Manage organizational funds, partnerships, and resources responsibly.
- Provide clear communication and direction to executives and members.
- Ensure equal access to opportunities within the Academy.
- Protect the Academy’s reputation and legal compliance.
- Handle conflicts of interest openly and ethically.
- Maintain professionalism when dealing with donors, partners, schools, and external stakeholders.
5. Executive Code of Ethics
This applies to chapter executives, program leads, ambassadors, and team leaders. Executives shall:
- Serve as role models for members.
- Represent Coding Ladies Academy positively in speech and conduct.
- Carry out duties diligently and responsibly.
- Communicate updates, challenges, and opportunities promptly.
- Avoid misuse of their position for personal gain.
- Treat members fairly and respectfully.
- Maintain confidentiality when entrusted with internal matters.
- Encourage participation, inclusion, and mentorship.
- Support organizational decisions even when personal opinions differ, while using proper channels for feedback.
6. Member Code of Ethics
All members shall:
- Participate respectfully in Academy programs and communities.
- Engage actively in learning and collaboration.
- Respect trainers, executives, and fellow members.
- Avoid disruptive behavior during meetings, trainings, or events.
- Use Academy resources responsibly.
- Avoid plagiarism, cheating, or misrepresentation of work.
- Seek help ethically and offer support to others.
- Uphold the Academy’s values in public and private spaces.
7. Social Media Ethics
All individuals affiliated with Coding Ladies Academy must act responsibly on social media. All members, executives, and management shall:
- Represent Coding Ladies Academy positively online.
- Avoid posting false, misleading, offensive, or harmful content connected to the Academy.
- Not share confidential internal information, private conversations, or sensitive documents without authorization.
- Seek permission before posting photos or personal information of others where necessary.
- Avoid public disputes, arguments, or comments that may harm the Academy’s reputation.
- Clearly distinguish personal opinions from official organizational positions.
- Use official Academy branding and logos only with permission or according to approved guidelines.
- Credit the Academy appropriately when sharing achievements related to Academy programs.
8. Media Handling and Publication Policy
All photos and videos captured during Coding Ladies Academy activities, including academy programs, club events, trainings, outreach activities, and external engagements, must be submitted for official review and processing.
- All media files must be forwarded to the designated media or communications team for editing, branding, approval, and scheduled publication on official platforms.
- No individual, executive, member, or participant is permitted to post, distribute, or publish event media independently without prior authorization from the communications or leadership team.
- This applies to all Academy-related content regardless of location, event type, or whether the activity is internal or external.
- This policy ensures consistency, quality control, proper branding, and protection of participant privacy across all official communications and representations.
9. Representation at Events and Outside the Organization
When representing Coding Ladies Academy at events, schools, partner meetings, conferences, online spaces, or any public setting, all affiliated persons must:
- Dress and present themselves professionally.
- Speak respectfully and accurately about the Academy’s mission, programs, and impact.
- Avoid making promises or commitments on behalf of the organization without authorization.
- Demonstrate professionalism in behavior, punctuality, and communication.
- Respect event organizers, hosts, partners, and attendees.
- Avoid behavior that could embarrass or damage the Academy’s reputation.
- Protect the Academy’s image when using branded materials, badges, or apparel.
- Notify relevant leadership when officially representing the Academy externally.
Representation outside official events, where one is publicly associated with Coding Ladies Academy, should still reflect positively on the organization.
10. Conflict of Interest
All members, executives, and management must:
- Disclose any personal, financial, or professional interests that may conflict with Academy responsibilities.
- Avoid using organizational opportunities, contacts, or resources for personal benefit without approval.
- Refrain from actions that compromise fairness or trust.
11. Violations and Accountability
Violations of this Code of Ethics may result in:
- Verbal or written warning
- Temporary suspension of responsibilities or membership
- Removal from leadership position
- Termination of membership or affiliation
- Additional corrective actions as deemed appropriate by leadership
All reported violations shall be reviewed fairly and confidentially.
12. Commitment to the Code
By joining or serving Coding Ladies Academy, every individual agrees to uphold this Code of Ethics and contribute to a respectful, safe, and empowering environment for all.
